5 Super Simple Ways To Love Yourself More

Self Care

Do you have your sights set on feeling truly confident and at peace in your own skin? Achieving self love doesn’t have to be the colossal headache that everyone makes it out to be.

“I can’t be sexy.” “I need to lose weight first.” “I don’t deserve to feel beautiful.” Sound familiar?

You’re not alone. Believe it or not, thoughts like these are common when you’re just starting out, and even if you’ve been on a self love journey for a while. We all have fears when we step into something new, whether it’s booking a boudoir session or saying “yes” to a weekend away just for yourself.

But they’re definitely holding you back from the love and confidence you deserve. For years I believed that self love was something I had to “earn.” That I needed to change or improve before I was worthy of embracing my body and treating myself with kindness. But once I stepped in front of the camera and experienced what it felt like to be seen and celebrated just as I was, everything changed.

Since then, I’ve learned a lot and I can’t wait to share it all with you. So take a deep breath and settle in to learn 5 actionable ways to love yourself more without having to change a single thing about who you are. Yes, you can love yourself more and I’m going to show you how.

#1. Set Goals for Self Love

When you work towards loving yourself more, it can be easy to get lost in the daily ups and downs and forget about your primary goal: embracing yourself fully, just as you are.

If you don’t sent an intention, it’s easy to fall back into old patterns of self doubt. Instead, try setting small, actionable goals like:

  • Looking in the mirror and saying one kind thing about yourself each morning.
  • Booking a photoshoot to capture your beauty through someone else’s lens.
  • Giving yourself permission to take time off without guilt.
  • Pro Tip: Write your biggest self love goal on a sticky note and place it somewhere visible – like your mirror or phone screen. The daily reminder will keep you motivated!

#2. Surround Yourself with Women Who Lift You Up

Did you think you had to do this journey alone? “Self love isn’t a solo act; it’s a community experience.” It’s a whole lot more fun – and empowering – when you surround yourself with women who truly get it. Whether it’s joining an uplifting women’s retreat, connecting with a group of like minded souls, or even stepping into a boudoir session where your beauty is celebrated, having support can make all the difference.

At my retreats and boudoir sessions, I see it all the time – women walking in feeling unsure, but walking out feeling transformed.

Here are a few ways to connect with a supportive community:

  • Join an online group of women who are also on a self love journey. You can request to join my private, women’s only Facebook group here!
  • Attend a retreat where you can disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with yourself.
  • Find a friend to take this journey with you – whether it’s booking a shoot together or setting self love challenges for each other.

#3. Invest in Experiences That Make You Feel Beautiful

So many women spend their lives waiting for a reason to feel beautiful – whether it’s a goal weight, a milestone, or someone else’s approval. But you don’t need permission to feel radiant.

One of the most powerful ways to love yourself more is to step outside your comfort zone and experience something that shifts your perspective. A boudoir session is a perfect example – it’s not just about the photos; it’s about seeing yourself through new eyes.

Not ready for a photoshoot? Try:

  • Dressing up just for yourself and taking selfies that make you feel good.
  • Booking a spa day or a weekend retreat where you can fully relax.
  • Taking yourself on a date – because you deserve to be spoiled.

#4. To Love Yourself More, Speak to Yourself Like You Would a Best Friend

Would you tell your best friend that she’s not good enough, not pretty enough, or not worthy of love? Of course not. So why do we speak to ourselves that way?

Next time you catch yourself thinking something negative, ask: Would I say this to someone I love? If the answer is no, reframe it.

Instead of: “I don’t look good in pictures.” Try: “This is me, and I am worthy of being seen.”

Instead of: “I’ll love myself when I lose 10 pounds.” Try: “I love myself now, and my body is amazing as it is.”

#5. Give Yourself Permission to Take Up Space

So many women shrink themselves – physically, emotionally, and mentally. But loving yourself means owning your space and taking up as much of it as you need.

  • Walk into a room with your head high.
  • Say yes to things that excite you and no to things that drain you.
  • Celebrate your body – whether it’s through dance, movement, or a boudoir session where you can fully embrace it.

The world needs you exactly as you are.

Loving yourself more isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment – it’s about choosing, every single day, to treat yourself with kindness, confidence, and joy. Whether it’s through booking a boudoir session, saying yes to a transformative retreat, or simply speaking to yourself with more compassion, there are countless ways to love yourself more starting today.
