Coming Home to Yourself

Wildly Free Podcast

Episode 1: Have You Forgotten Her? By Amber Carl

There’s a quiet ache I hear from women again and again – whether they’re in my studio, at one of my women’s retreats, or reaching out online. It’s the ache of losing touch with who you are…and the longing to begin coming home to yourself again.

It’s not always loud. It’s not always obvious. But it’s real.

“I don’t feel like myself anymore.”

That quiet truth is what inspired me to create Wildly Free: A Journey Back to You – a podcast for the woman who’s ready to reconnect with her voice, her softness, and her truth.

Because even if you can’t make it to one of my women’s retreats or schedule a photography session in my studio, you still deserve a space where you feel seen, heard, and remembered.

Why We Drift Away – And How to Start Coming Home to Yourself

Over the years I’ve worked with hundreds of women. And while every story is different, one thread ties them together: A slow drifting away from the woman they used to be.

We forget what we want. We silence what we need. We smile on the outside but feel numb underneath. We don’t get here because we’ve done something wrong – we get here because we’ve been surviving.

And yet…somewhere inside, we know something is missing. That soft voice whispering, “Come back. Remember. You’re still in there.” This is where the journey of coming home to yourself begins.

What Coming Home to Yourself Actually Looks Like

It doesn’t require a full reinvention. It’s not about being “fixed.” It’s about remembering. Remembering what it feels like to be grounded. To breathe deeply. To feel like you again.

In the first episode, I offer gentle prompts to help you begin:

  1. What part of me feels the most forgotten right now?
  2. What am I craving that I haven’t said out loud?
  3. When did I last feel beautiful? Desired? Grounded?
  4. What would it feel like to want something again – just for me?

These aren’t checkboxes. They’re invitations. Ways to reconnect. Ways to start coming home to yourself, little by little.

A Story from a Women’s Retreat That Brought Us All Back to Ourselves

At one of my women’s retreats, we were sitting in a sister circle when a gues – let’s call her Michelle – shared something that brought the whole room to stillness.

“I used to be bold. I used to take up space. Somewhere along the way, I stopped. I started believing everyone else mattered more than me.”

And in that moment, she said what so many of us have carried. But by the end of the retreat? Michelle was dancing barefoot, laughint with her whole heart, crying tears of release and remembrance.

She lookst ad me and said: “I remembered who I was. I feel like me again.”

That’s what coming home to yourself feels like. It’s not dramatic. It’s sacred. And it starts the moment you choose to return.

This Is Your Invitation to Come Home

Whether you’re reading this on your lunch break, in bed before anyone wakes up, or hiding in the bathroom for five minutes of quiet – you’re here. And that’s enough.

You don’t have to wait for a retreat. You don’t have to lose weight, get permission, or be more healed. You are worthy of this work now.

Coming home to yourself isn’t a destination. It’s a journey. And I created this podcast to walk that road with you.
