Without knowing how to feel empowered, you won’t be able to discover your confidence, embrace your true self, and experience joy in your own skin. Instead, you will continue to feel disconnected from your worth, shy away from self care, and miss opportunities to celebrate the beauty within you.

You’re in the right place! I created this proven 5 step process to help you feel empowered based on my experience hosting women’s retreats since 2021.

We’ll cover everything from creating a safe and welcoming space to embracing self love practices. I’ll also share common missteps and lessons I’ve learned along the way, so you can bypass unnecessary challenges.

Step #1: Embrace the Retreat Environment

The first step to feel empowered is to embrace the environment of the retreat. Retreat spaces are intentionally designed to make you feel safe, welcomed, and celebrated.

  • Set an intention: Decide what you want to gain from the retreat – whether it’s confidence, connection, or clarity.
  • Leave judgment at the door: This is a no judgment zone. Be open to being yourself without fear or hesitation.
  • Familiarize yourself with the space: Take a moment to explore the retreat location, whether it’s a serene lakefront, forest lodge, or ocean view villa.

For example, at my retreats, I guide participants in grounding exercises upon arrival to help them connect with the space and each other.

What to look out for: Some participants hesitate to fully engage because they feel nervous or unsure. Remember, you’re not alone, and everyone is here for the same reason: to grow and connect.

  • Let go of guilt: Remind yourself that prioritizing self care is a step toward becoming your best self for you and your loved ones.

For example, I’ve seen women bond over simple things like a shared love of surfing or a supportive word during a boudoir session. What to look out for: Don’t let self doubt hold you back from engaging. Even small steps, like smiling or saying hello, can lead to meaningful connections.

Not it’s time to reflect on your journey and recognize your inner strength.

For example, during a past retreat, a participant who felt disconnected from her confidence left with newfound self worth, inspired by a simple journaling exercise. What to look out for: Rushing through activities without reflection can prevent you from fully appreciating your transformation. Take your time and let the process unfold.
