Grays Harbor Water Boudoir Session

I offer water boudoir sessions every summer and let me tell you why it’s my favorite. The Pacific Northwest is absolutely beautiful. And don’t get me wrong, I love my studio boudoir sessions for sure! But there’s something about when the woman I am photographing gets into the water, something ignites inside of her.

Sure it’s probably cold so that’s going to spark something! But that connection you see within her to the water and the surrounding nature just makes these water boudoir sessions something I can’t describe. You’ll have to look at these photos from past water boudoir sessions that I have done or come experience one for yourself!

What Happens During A Water Boudoir Session?

I always begin my water boudoir sessions with the woman I am photographing standing in the water. This way I can capture the trees surrounding and the light coming through because I only offer these in the evening during the summer. That is when we have the best light and also when the water is going to be the warmest it’s going to get in Washington.

Then after we do a few shots standing I’ll have her slowly ease into the water. The next set of poses are usually sitting in the water. Then if she has filled out my questionnaire by agreeing to actually get into the water then we’ll slowly move into those poses. It’s a bit cold and all of the ladies I photograph in the water are super brave. But the images are absolutely amazing and it’s so worth it!

How Can I Best Prepare?

I typically only do one outfit for these types of sessions because once you get wet it’s difficult to change anyway. You can always bring a robe or something else to add on to change your outfit up a bit if you’d prefer. I tell the women I photograph in the water to wear the outfit they’ll be wearing for the shoot underneath clothing that they don’t mind getting wet. Along with bringing shoes they don’t mind getting wet. I hold these sessions in Elma, Washington and we have to walk across some shallow water to get to the photo location. Throughout this walk there are rocks that can hurt your feet and be a bit slippery at times. So it’s best to wear shoes as we make our way back there. Definitely bring a towel as well so you can dry off a bit after your session and get your clothes and shoes back on to walk back.

A water boudoir session can be so exhilarating! And definitely something different from an in studio session.

If you’re interested in scheduling a water boudoir session with me you can grab one here. I have one week available in July and one week available in August, all in the evening. The total cost is $275 and all of the edited digital images are yours. Just pay $100 to reserve your spot today and the remainder isn’t due until 7 days prior to your shoot.

Washington state boudoir photographer

Born and raised in Washington State, I know the Pacific Northwest like the back of my hand. As a luxury boudoir photographer, my mission is simple: to reach as many women as I can and show them just how incredible they already are. This experience is about so much more than beautiful photos - it's a chance to see yourself through the eyes of those who love you, and to truly reconnect with the woman you are.
Since founding Boudoir Photography by Amber Carl in 2020, I've had the privilege of photographing countless women and couples, each experience as unique as the person in front of the lens. The greatest compliment I receive is how comfortable my clients feel with me. This is an intimate journey, and my goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can let your true self shine.
Take a look at my work and reach out - I'd love to help you experience the confidence and self love you deserve.
